Lamar Jackson Could Break Major Rushing QB Record Next Season

Despite his season not ending the way he and his teammates had hoped, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson still had a 2023 campaign to remember.

Jackson earned the second NFL MVP award of his six-year career in the league, and he helped lead the Ravens to finish as the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a 13-4 record.

The Baltimore quarterback has a talented arm, but what distinguishes him from other quarterbacks in the NFL is his exceptional rush ability.

Jackson has already broken several league and team records with his legs, and he has the potential to shatter another in 2024.

According to Dov Kleiman on Twitter, former NFL quarterback Michael Vick now holds the league record for career rushing yards by a quarterback, but Jackson is on track to shatter that record next season.

Jackson would need at least 852 rushing yards to break Vick’s record in 2024.

Given his average of 58.8 rushing yards per game over the last three years, Jackson should be able to pass Vick next season if he stays healthy.

Even if the Baltimore quarterback does not beat Vick’s record in 2024, he is likely to surpass the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback in the record books during the 2025 season.

Regardless of how many rushing yards he accumulates in 2024, Jackson and the Ravens will be hoping to replicate the entire team success they experienced on the field this season.

Perhaps Baltimore and its great quarterback will perform well enough in the 2024 season to reach the Super Bowl.
