Perhaps this was a sign of things to come.

Kylian Mbappe's future to dominate transfer window | SuperSport

Paris Saint-Germain faced Nantes on Saturday night without Kylian Mbappe in the starting lineup. Coach Luis Enrique benched Mbappe following his 90-minute performance in the Champions League midweek match against Real Sociedad, following his subsequent private declaration that he intended to leave PSG at the end of the campaign.

A Real Madrid trade for Kylian Mbappe is almost official, pending Los Blancos’ official approval.

The French forward’s contract with the squad has been the subject of much discussion, but SER has confirmed that he will receive a fixed wage of €14 million every season in addition to €30 million in bonuses.

The 25-year-old will work for Real Madrid for five seasons, according to the report. But even though the player envisions himself playing in the Spanish capital starting in the upcoming season, he hasn’t signed the contract as of yet.

With Mbappe, they are putting on a closed agreement. Journalist Tomás Roncero told SER, “I was informed about it by someone who has been with Nasser Al Khelaifi in Doha, and they assure me that it is 100% closed.”

“Everyone acknowledges that it’s closed. After seven years, Mbappe realized he needed to compromise on his wage demands in order to realize his childhood ambition.

“The only thing left to do is formalize the agreement, as a PSG-Real Madrid matchup in the Champions League quarterfinals is still a possibility,” he continued.

There is a private agreement in place even though Real Madrid and Mbappe have not yet signed an official contract.

With a total value of up to €500 million, the contract will rank among the costliest in European football history thanks to his €14 million net annual salary and a €30 million bonus spread over five years.

The terms of bonuses and incentives throughout the course of the five-year contract, as well as the division of image rights between the player and the club, are still up for negotiation.

As Luka Modric is rumored to be leaving Real Madrid at the end of the current campaign, Mbappe is projected to wear the number 10 jersey the next season, making the Frenchman an ideal successor.

The Real Madrid team is not worried about his arrival, even though the financial issues have been resolved, because he is expected to be paid top dollar.

The team dynamic is positive, and neither his anticipated arrival nor his promotion to top earner status will cause any unanticipated disruptions.
