Davante Adams, a wide receiver with the Las Vegas Raiders, is probably not missing former head coach Josh McDaniels.
Monday’s Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Series featured four college games for men and women at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
A referee walked over to speak with Adams and retired MLB outfielder Dexter Fowler before the game.
The referee passed Adams the game ball a few times and said, “Loved to see you guys get back on that winning track yesterday.”
The referee was talking about Sunday’s convincing 30-6 victory over the New York Giants by the Raiders.
When he mentioned that he was present at the game, Adams felt compelled to provide some comfort.
Adams declared, “It’s going to be better now.”
“I already know.” Positive thoughts. Man, I adore it,” the official answered.
The Raiders’ most recent triumph followed some significant organizational changes.
The team announced late on Halloween that general manager David Ziegler and McDaniels had been fired.
The decision was made in response to the Detroit Lions’ 26-14 victory, but it was also allegedly preceded by a harsh pre-practice meeting in which players and coaches criticized McDaniels’ flaws.
The former head coach, who led the Raiders to a 9-16 record in his first season, was in the middle of his second one.
