HONOLULU (NewsNow Hawaii) – Marcus Kemp, a former star player for the University of Hawaii, will not play in the Kansas City Chiefs’ first Super Bowl in recent memory.
Kemp was a member of the Chiefs when they participated in the championship games in February of 2020, 2021, and 2023, although he is currently a free agent.
“One of my all-time favorite teammates is Marcus Kemp,” remarked Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Kemp was a Rainbow Warrior who was renowned for his clutch plays at crucial junctures.
He wasn’t used much while he was a member of the Chiefs. When he did, though, it was evident as he made significant plays in the AFC title game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Chiefs the previous season.
Due to his special team blocks in the previous year’s Super Bowl, he was also featured on the highlight reel.
Recall his effects in the locker room and on the field, players on both sides of the ball.
“One of my all-time favorite teammates is Marcus Kemp,” Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes remarked.
According to Mahomes, the two of them joined the league together and frequently practiced together.
The kicker for Kansas City, Harrison Butker, described him as a “special teams captain.”
He continued by saying that Kemp was a versatile actor.
The defensive tackle for Kansas City, Chris Jones, expressed his hope that he will return to the team.
Kemp played with the Washington Commanders most recently, but he also had time in Miami.
Jesse Sapolu, the great player who won four Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers, was interviewed by Hawaii News Now earlier this week.
Maa Tanuvasa, who played for the Denver Broncos and won two titles, was also highlighted.
