he Stockton Kings, who are the G League associates of the Sacramento Kings, will be missing G Jaylen Nowell as they prepare to face the Mexico City Capitanes on Thursday.

Nowell’s suspension comes after being thrown out of Stockton’s game last Friday for making inappropriate comments towards one of the officials.

G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim made the decision Monday to suspend the guard without pay for one game due to his actions.

Stockton defeated the Rio Grande Vipers 112-111, winning even after Nowell was sent off in the second quarter of play.

When the squad plays the Capitanes at Golden1 Center in Sacramento, the guard will not be available.

The former great player from the University of Washington was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft.

He played for the team until signing a contract with the Kings’ organization last year. The Memphis Grizzlies signed the 2019 Pac-12 player of the year to a 10-day deal earlier in the season, but he later returned to Stockton.

 

In the G League, Nowell is presently averaging 16.7 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game.

The guard played in almost 200 games over the course of five seasons while with Minnesota, scoring 10.8 points per game in his finest season.
