Kevin O’Connell sends message to Vikings supporters about dominating the field in all three phases.
The head coach has set a high benchmark for his club.
The Minnesota Vikings held their annual training camp night practice on Thursday, and following that, head coach Kevin O’Connell delivered an emotional statement to the fans who packed the stands at TCO Performance Center in Eagan.
“As I have talked to our team about, establishing a championship standard with everything we do, the expectation is the same for you Show up each and every Sunday,” O’Connell said in a statement.
“Every opportunity we get to make US Bank Stadium the best home environment in all the National Football League, and we will provide you guys with many opportunities to do your thing by dominating on the field in all three phases.”
Last season, the Vikings were certainly dominating on offense, but the defense still has a long way to go before it can be considered dominant. We’ll all find out together in 2023 whether a new strategy and defensive coordinator (Brian Flores) can propel the defense to new heights.
