The Kentucky Wildcats finished the first phase of their roster building this week as the roster has grown to nine players.

However, the Cats are missing one go-to scorer on the wing to help pair alongside the talented players they have added over the last few weeks.
Mark Pope and his staff obviously want Jaxson Robinson, but there’s now a report that the Cats are linked to another big-time scorer in the portal.
According to a report by Joe Tipton of On3, North Florida transfer guard Chaz Lanier has heard from Kentucky.
“The 6-foot-4 Lanier is a native of Nashville, and the Tennessee Volunteers are making a strong push here. Schools like Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland, and Vanderbilt are also rumored to have interest,” Tipton said.
Let’s just say landing Lanier would be a huge addition. For North Florida last season, he averaged 19.7 PPG on 51% shooting from the field and 44% from 3-point range.
He also added 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the Ospreys. He primarily played off the ball but also ran the point, so he could give Kentucky depth throughout the backcourt.
Lanier, a 6-foot-4 and 199-pound guard out of Nashville, came close to being a 50/40/90 player last season, and as things seem to stand, it is likely he will end up in Knoxville playing for the Volunteers.
However, seeing several schools in contact makes it seem he might be more open to other programs than many previously thought.
This would be a great addition. Let’s see if Pope and his staff can make some noise.
