Dylan is now going to be a Husker!
Dylan Raiola, a five-star quarterback, has decided to commit to Nebraska, capping a lengthy and winding recruiting journey.
With Dylan Raiola’s shocking announcement on Monday that he had transferred his commitment from the Georgia Bulldogs to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the drama that had been building around the Husker quarterback room for the past several weeks came to an end.
How adorable it is!
As long as Dylan remains at Nebraska, his decision will probably have an impact over the course of the next few years.
Dylan’s dedication comes at a time when the Husker QB room was beginning to resemble a soap opera on a daily basis.
First it was former Ohio State Buckeye five-star QB Kyle McCord visiting Nebraska a week ago to see if NU might be a good fit for him. But the day he arrived on campus, word got out that Dylan was going to make another official visit to Nebraska.
Of course everyone knows Raiola is the son of former Husker O-line great Dominic Raiola and the nephew of current Husker offensive line coach Donovan Raiola.
Fans also know that Dylan has been a Georgia commit since May. When the news broke that Nebraska was back into the thick of things, McCord decided NU wasn’t for him.
When Husker four-star 2024 QB commit Danny Kaelin from Bellevue West High (NE) got the news last week, he made plans to visit Michigan State to see if they were interested in his services.
Then last fall’s Husker QB starter, Jeff Sims, entered the transfer portal for a new destination.
With Sims out of the QB picture at Nebraska and Kyle McCord moving on, it looked as if Kaelin might also go elsewhere. If Dylan had decided to stay with Georgia, the Huskers might have made one of the worst blunders in college football recruiting. Matt Rhule’s reputation was on the line.
Thankfully, there is a very happy ending.
Dylan Raiola is coming to Nebraska. Say it again: Dylan Raiola is coming to Nebraska.
If that weren’t enough good news, it appears Kaelin will keep his Husker commitment. With Raiola and Kaelin coming to Nebraska, Husker fans should be dancing in the streets.
That Dylan decided to be a Husker didn’t come as a total surprise. One of the reasons is because he was in LIncoln over the weekend. During his stay, he attended the Husker wrestling match Saturday and the Husker women’s basketball game Sunday afternoon. The young QB was busy signing autographs at both events
If he weren’t coming to Nebraska, why would he have such a high profile in Lincoln?
We are all aware now. Dylan has a strong will!
