The NFL teams’ offers to make any trades for the 2023 season have come to an end.

Tuesday afternoon marked the official end of the league’s annual trade deadline, with teams making crucial decisions for their last chance to drastically reorganize their rosters. The Washington Commanders lost both of their outstanding defensive ends, Chase Young (dealt to the San Francisco 49ers) and Montez Sweat (sent to the Chicago Bears), at this year’s deadline, though there weren’t as many high-profile moves as there were last year.

Many well-known figures remaining at home
Although there were more significant transactions made at the NFL trade deadline this year than many may have anticipated, a few important players will not be leaving.

Super Bowl 58 news, statistics, odds, matchups, and more are all available at SUPER BOWL CENTRAL.

Brian Burns, the pass rusher for the Carolina Panthers, and Danielle Hunter, the edge rusher for the Minnesota Vikings and NFL sack leader, were not dealt.

Jerry Jeudy, a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, is also staying put because coach Sean Payton indicated on Monday that the team was not looking to sell.

Prior to their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, the Tennessee Titans did not make any trades involving any of their top offensive players: wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, quarterback Ryan Tannehill, or running back Derrick Henry.

Patriots refuse to trade at the deadline.
Many people speculated that Bill Belichick might trade away some of his important veteran contributors given the Patriots’ 2-6 record. But on Tuesday, Belichick remained unwavering.

Among the players who had been tipped as possible targets if made available were offensive linemen Trent Brown and Michael Onwenu, pass rusher Josh Uche, and safety Kyle Dugger. However, all of them have decided to stay put.

Although he was a candidate for a move as well, wide receiver Kendrick Bourne tore his ACL on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Packers trade Bills CB Rasul Douglas.
The Green Bay Packers haven’t offloaded any important players in a while, and they usually don’t do anything around the NFL trade deadline. However, this season of the franchise is unlike any other.

Multiple reports state that the Packers decided on Tuesday to trade cornerback Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills amid a 4–0 start and losing streak of two games. In exchange for returning a fifth pick, the Packers will get a third-round selection.

In 2021, Douglas, 29, made a big impression on the Packers as he picked up five interceptions, two of which he ran back for touchdowns.

WR support for the Lions in the Donovan Peoples-Jones trade
It’s Donovan Peoples-Jones’ return to Michigan.

The Cleveland Browns have announced that the Detroit native and former wide receiver for the Wolverines is now a member of his hometown team.

In exchange, the Browns will get a sixth-round pick in 2025.

The previous season, Peoples-Jones, 24, set a career high with 61 receptions and 839 yards for the Browns. The Browns’ passing attack has struggled this season, and Deshaun Watson’s absence has left the receiver with few opportunities. Peoples-Jones was not targeted on any of quarterback PJ Walker’s 31 attempts in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Peoples-Jones could add variety to Detroit’s passing attack, which has grown overly dependent on rookie tight end Sam LaPorta and top target Amon-Ra St. Brown, who together have racked up half of the offense’s receptions (100).

Talk about the Washington Commanders heading into Tuesday was mostly focused on whether the team would move Chase Young or Montez Sweat. The team ultimately parted ways with both.

According to someone with knowledge of the transaction, the Commanders decided to trade Young to the 49ers in exchange for a third-round pick, as reported by Tyler Dragon of USA TODAY Sports. Since the move was not yet official, the person spoke under the condition of anonymity. Shortly after Washington and the Chicago Bears agreed to trade Sweat for a second-round pick, the trade was completed.

The 49ers made headlines last year at the trade deadline when they struck a deal to acquire running back Christian McCaffrey. This is their latest major splash move.

Young, 24, resumed his form that helped him win the 2020 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award with five sacks in seven games this season before a torn ACL in November 2021 derailed his previous two seasons. However, because the Commanders declined to pick up his fifth-year option, the former No. 2 overall pick is in the final year of his contract, and Washington appears to be embracing a complete overhaul.

He will have to strengthen a struggling pass rush in San Francisco, which has been one of the main elements in a three-game
