Jalek Felton suspended by UNC for an undisclosed reason.

Jalek Felton, a freshman guard for the North Carolina Tar Heels, has been suspended from the University of North Carolina for an unexplained reason.

Felton is not allowed to play, practice, or participate in any UNC events.

This season, the West Columbia, South Carolina native has seen little action in 22 games.

In 9.7 minutes per game, Felton averages 2.9 points and 1.6 assists while shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 31.4% from long range.

His greatest game came in a December victory over Western Carolina, when he had a career-high 15 points and five assists.

Since scoring 12 points against Ohio State on December 23, Felton has scored two or fewer points in nine straight games.

According to 247Sports, Felton entered North Carolina as a 4-star recruit, ranking as the No. 30 overall player and No. 1 combo guard in the 2017 class.

Felton’s indefinite absence will shorten the rotation significantly for the 16-6 Tar Heels, but Joel Berry II and Kenny Williams will continue to be the go-to backcourt players.
