This weekend will be a major game for the UNC basketball team, but first the Tar Heels have some business to attend to.

In order to resume ACC play, the Tar Heels will travel back to Atlanta, Georgia, this time to play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. With a victory, North Carolina would improve to 10-0 in conference play and finish the month of January with a perfect 9-0 record.

Despite being strong favorites going into the game, North Carolina needs to stay awake. In college basketball, especially in the ACC, anything can happen. Georgia Tech would love to play spoiler and become the first ACC school to defeat the Tar Heels in this season’s competition.

The secret to North Carolina’s victory
Avoid looking forward.

UNC basketball program to close out the month of January with a trip to Atlanta

It’s easy to foresee Saturday’s highly anticipated game at the Dean Smith Center against Duke. But you can’t ignore anyone because the most crucial task should always be the one that is in front of you at that moment.

Georgia Tech has lost seven of their last eight league games, demonstrating a lack of confidence. As the UNC basketball team hasn’t allowed more than 70 points to an ACC opponent this season, the Yellow Jackets have averaged just under 66 points per game during their current three-game losing streak.

It may be extremely difficult for Georgia Tech to stay up if the Tar Heels approach the game with the same strong defensive mentality that they have demonstrated. The Tar Heels should focus on taking an early lead and holding onto it because you want to enter the game with the competitive attitude of winning it all.

Following his finest game as a Tar Heel, true freshman guard Elliot Cadeau scored 16 points and disheveled six assists in the victory over Florida State. Cadeau has scored double figures in both of his previous games, and the Tar Heels’ offensive attack has greatly benefited from his ability to get to the rim.

Cadeau has been a major asset to this Tar Heels team, and they are much better when he is on the floor. In addition to continuing to assist the offense, he also selects his locations so that he may use his quickness and athleticism to score at the rim.

Can Cadeau continue to build upon his last two performances? If he keeps playing at this level, it makes this Tar Heels team even tougher to match up with.

December 10, 2022, marked the final encounter between these two teams. The UNC basketball team won easily, winning 75-59 at home. North Carolina was able to end a four-game losing streak with the victory.

In this game, two players from North Carolina recorded double-doubles. Armando Bacot scored 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, while RJ Davis finished with 22 points and 10 assists. Despite making only three of their thirteen three-point shots, the UNC basketball team managed to shoot 47.4% from the field.
