Transfer offensive lineman Zach Greenberg commits to UNC.
The Tar Heels get a third offensive lineman through the Transfer Portal.
North Carolina added another offensive lineman to its roster through the Transfer Portal: former Division III lineman Zach Greenberg committed to the Tar Heels on Monday, a day after his official visit.

On November 22, Greenberg, a 6-foot-4, 290-pounder, entered the Transfer Portal. He’d spent the previous three years at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.

In addition to UNC, Greenburg received scholarship offers from Akron, Connecticut, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Troy, UAB, Villanova, and Western Michigan.

Greenberg was Muhlenberg’s only repeat selection to the D3football.com All-Region 2 squad.

Greenberg was named to the third team, all-region, and All-Centennial Conference first teams as a freshman in 2021. He started at left tackle in all 13 games, making him the only offensive lineman to do so. Throughout the season, he allowed only three sacks (two to the regional defensive player of the year).

Greenberg suffered an injury after starting the first three games at left tackle, causing him to miss the remainder of the 2022 season.

Greenberg was named to the D3football.com all-region team (first-team) as well as the All-Centennial Conference first team this season. He spearheaded a line that allowed only eight sacks this season, allowing the Mules to score 38.6 points and 444.1 yards per game.

At UNC, Greenberg will most likely go inside to offensive guard.

Greenberg is the third offensive lineman and the seventh overall transfer to pledge to UNC this offseason. His predecessors were Austin Blaske (Georgia) and Howard Sampson (North Texas).

Greenberg, unlike the other six transfers, will not begin classes at UNC until the summer. The remaining students will enroll in the spring.
