Diego Llorente, a 29-year-old Spaniard who saw 702 minutes of action in 12 total appearances for the Giallorossi during the second half of last season, has officially returned to Roma from Leeds United on a one-year loan deal. With no permanence clause attached, Llorente will return to England in the summer. Roma was eager to keep him for the upcoming campaign and last month began talks with Leeds United to start negotiating a new deal.

According to reports, the Giallorossi wanted to include a buy option or obligation to buy clause in the agreement, but the two teams were unable to come to a mutually agreeable price.

A provision in Llorente’s Leeds contract that permits him to depart on loan in the event that the English team is relegated—which happened last season—further aided the transfer.

Daniel Farke has been appointed as the new first team manager of Leeds United, the club is happy to announce.

Farke, who led Norwich City to victory twice in the Sky Bet Championship, has reached an agreement to stay at Elland Road for four years.

After Sam Allardyce left the Whites at the end of the previous season, the 46-year-old German took over.

After having a successful playing career in Germany’s lower leagues, mostly with SV Lippstadt, he managed the team before assuming the helm at Borussia Dortmund II.

As a result, he was appointed Norwich City’s manager in the summer of 2017 and had much success at Carrow Road.

As a result, he was appointed Norwich City’s manager in the summer of 2017 and had much success at Carrow Road.

He led Norwich to the Sky Bet Championship title in the 2018–19 season, bringing the team back to the top division for the first time in three years. Norwich finished five points clear of Sheffield United in second place and eleven ahead of Leeds in third.

Although Farke could not maintain the Canaries in the Premier League, he was able to lead the Norfolk team to another Championship title when they were demoted to the second division. This time, Norwich finished with 97 points, three more than they had two years earlier.

In November 2021, following 208 appearances and a four-and-a-half year tenure at Carrow Road, he left the team.

Farke joined FC Krasnodar in January 2022, but he departed the team three months later due to the winter break without playing a game as Russia invaded Ukraine.

Before leaving at the end of the previous season, Farke took over Borussia Monchengladbach at the beginning of the previous one and guided the team to a 10th-place Bundesliga result.

With the intention of leading Leeds United back to the Premier League, he has now joined the team.

“I’d like to thank everyone for the really warm welcome. I’m really grateful to work for this amazing club right now,” said the recently named manager.

“I want to return the trust that has been shown, and I feel humbled right now knowing that I have to live up to all the expectations.”

The most crucial thing is to rebuild this club’s cohesiveness and unity, and I will work on it with my staff and players starting today. I also have faith that our supporters will be there for us when we need them. I am eagerly awaiting the season’s opening game.

“After a thorough recruitment process, we are excited to confirm Daniel’s appointment as our first team manager,” Paraag Marathe stated in a statement regarding the development.

“His track record in the Championship is unquestionable, and his leadership style and strategy to lead us back to the Premier League are impressive.”

We are excited for a successful season and are happy to have Daniel and his team join the team.

Eddie Riemer will support Farke, and Chris Domogalla and Christopher John—who had previously collaborated at Norwich—will also be joining the Elland Road coaching staff.

On Sunday, August 6, the first league game of the Sky Bet Championship campaign will take place at Elland Road between Leeds and Cardiff City, marking his first league match as the club’s manager.
