The basketball treasure from UNC should soon add 200 blocks to his impressive stats of over 2,000 points, over 1,500 rebounds, and 100 steals.
Armando Bacot, a fifth-year center for UNC basketball, has been unstoppable this season when it comes to reaching significant statistical benchmarks. While certain Tar Heel career records—like Brendan Haywood’s 304 blocks and Tyler Hansbrough’s 2,872 points—seem unattainable, the 23-year-old long ago set the record for most rebounds (1,534).
He’ll also become the first Tar Heel in history to record at least 2,000 points, 1,500 rebounds, 200 blocks, and 100 steals with one more block. That’s evidence of Bacot’s dependability and expertise in the paint and on both ends of the floor throughout the years.

Bacot ranks fourth among all UNC talents in history in terms of both points (2,081) and blocks (199); he will require 64 more of the former and 46 more of the latter to tie Sam Perkins, who ranks third in terms of both categories (2,145 points and 245 blocks), for third place.
He recently established UNC’s 1,000-defensive-rebound club, which currently stands with 1,001.
Armando Bacot will unseat Deon Thompson at No. 2 in career Tar Heel games against Georgia Tech. He will be two games short of the UNC basketball record of 155 that Leaky Black set during his last five years in college. This will be his 153rd appearance.
