Mark Robins offers the latest injury update on a key Coventry City player.
Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive: Sky Blues manager shares the latest on Ben Sheaf’s hamstring tear.

Mark Robins is still waiting to learn the exact nature of Ben Sheaf’s injury as he prepares his Coventry City squad for Saturday’s trip to Norwich (3pm kick-off). The Sky Blues will be missing their main midfielder for the encounter at Carrow Road, where they will play a team that has won only two of their past six Championship games.

Sheaf was injured in the first ten minutes against Bristol City on Tuesday night, with an initial prognosis of a ruptured hamstring. However, the degree of the tear has yet to be assessed, and its severity will provide a better indication of how long the 25-year-old will be missing.

“Ben gets a scan today so we will know a bit more later,” Robins added. “Unfortunately we have had to wait a few days before we could get him on the scanner but he will be on that machine later on today and we will know this evening.”

The good news is that January signing Victor Torp has hit the ground running in his first two games and appears to be a ready-made Championship level talent, albeit still lacking in match fitness after returning from a six-week layoff for the Norwegian winter break.

Josh Eccles, Jamie Allen, Joel Latibeaudiere, and Liam Kelly are the other possibilities at Robins’ disposal to replace the injured player for the foreseeable future.
