Football: LaMareon James, an Old Dominion CB transfer, has committed to TCU.
Throughout the 2023 season, the junior from Norfolk, Virginia made 60 total tackles.

 

TCU football received commitments from three defensive backs through the transfer portal on Saturday, including former Old Dominion cornerback LaMareon James.

James spent three seasons with the Big Blue and had a good 2023 season, totaling 59 tackles, nine passes defensed, and two forced fumbles. At ODU, the 5-foot-10, 187-pounder from Norfolk, Virginia finished with 87 tackles, eight passes defensed, and two interceptions.

 

James was the second of three transfers to announce their commitment to the Horned Frogs on Saturday, following former New Mexico State cornerback Andre Seldon.

James was a 2023 All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention who started all 13 games for the Big Blue and recovered four fumbles.

James played 38 games and worked on special teams at Old Dominion, returning 58 kickoffs for 1,346 yards and two scores. James was a three-star recruit in high school and will contend for the starting cornerback position at TCU this season.
