JANUARY 24 WILLIAMS BACK TO TIDE Ryan Williams, a five-star wide receiver, has finally decided what college to attend.

Williams has announced that, following a recent visit, he will be returning to Tuscaloosa to pledge to Alabama and the new head coach, Kalen DeBoer.

The native of Saraland, Alabama, had withdrawn from Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement.

Williams canceled a planned trip to Texas that was supposed to take place this coming weekend on Tuesday.

After hearing DeBoer’s updated sales pitch, Williams ultimately decided to stay with Tide less than twenty-four hours later.

Williams is a teammate of K.J. Lacey, a 2025 Longhorns quarterback commit, whose inclusion in the class appears to have given the Longhorns a leg up on the five-star.

Over the last two seasons, Williams gained 2,965 yards and 43 touchdowns from 160 receptions while receiving passes from quarterback Kyle Lacey. This made him one of the most potent quarterback/wide receiver combinations in the nation.

But with three portal commitments already secured, as well as serious elite 2024 recruits at the position in addition to the talent on campus, it was difficult to see the Horns ultimately having room for Williams.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, he is currently ranked as the No. 12 player in the country, the No. 4 wide receiver, and the No. 2 player in the state of Alabama. Williams was ranked first among receivers in the 2025 class prior to his reclassification.

That won’t stop them from going after playmakers in the 2025 class, though.

The Longhorns are reportedly eyeing explosive 2025 four-star receiver Kelshaun Johnson, who is returning from a trip to Austin for Texas Junior Day this weekend, according to On3 recruiting insider Gerry Hamilton.

January 20th, Texas Guilloray The Texas Longhorns are now getting ahead of the curve and have been ruling the recruiting scene lately.

Raycine Guillory, a running back from Aledo, Texas, committed to the Longhorns on Saturday during Junior Day. Guillory is Texas’s first 2026 commitment. He made his choice known on social media.
