Mark Robins is hoping to assemble his team for the 2023–24 Championship season as Coventry City’s massive summer transfer rebuild comes to an end today.

The manager has been able to significantly strengthen and replenish his team thanks to the eventful window that saw star players Viktor Gyokeres and Gustavo Hamer reluctantly sold for a combined fee of approximately £35 million. This has also been made possible by nearly 19,000 season ticket sales.

So far, the Sky Blues have added eight permanent players: center-halves Joel Latibeaudiere from Swansea (compensation), striker Ellis Simms from Everton for an initial £3.5 million, goalkeeper Brad Collins from Barnsley (undisclosed), Bobby Thomas for a reported £2 million from Burnley, Milan van Ewijk for £3.4 million from SC Heerenveen, and striker Haji Wright for a club record £7.7 million from Turkish side Antalyaspor.

Additionally, the team has added two loan players: Brighton’s Yasin Ayari, an attacking midfielder, and Bologna’s Luis Binks, a center back.

Robins still has time to spend a little more money on a center back and a central midfielder to bolster his team. With the exception of backup goalie Simon Moore, nobody else is anticipated to depart by tonight’s 11 p.m. deadline.

Danny Cashman departed from Coventry City Football Club as of today.

In order for the attacker to move to non-league Worthing, their contract has been mutually terminated.

The team wishes Danny all the best in his future endeavors and professional life.

Liam Kitching, a summer transfer target from Barnsley, has now joined Coventry City.

The 23-year-old center back was acquired by the Sky Blues for an “undisclosed” sum. The captain of the Tyles signed a four-year contract at the CBS Arena, making him the team’s eleventh acquisition of the window.

Mark Robins had to put in a lot of effort to complete the transfer after the League One team turned down two of the club’s offers and seemed determined to hold onto their highly-regarded defender. After Oakwell club rejected City’s first offer of £2.5 million, which increased to £3 million, City re-entered with a revised offer of £4 million. On Thursday, that was also rejected before City made a third attempt.

After being released by Coventry City, full-back Fankaty Dabo signed with League Two Forest Green Rovers.

The 27-year-old was a major contributor to the Sky Blues’ ascent from League One to a Championship team that was pushing for promotion during his four seasons with the team.

“I’m really excited to be here,” Dabo exclaimed. I’m really looking forward to this challenge, even though it’s completely different for me.

“I have a lot of ambition; I want to come here and do something. I always want to try to win things, not just play for fun. That’s my purpose in being here.

It is believed that Coventry City and Barnsley have finally reached an agreement for defender Liam Kitching.

After seeing their first offer of £2.5 million, which increased to £3 million, rejected, the Sky Blues reopened the bidding on Thursday with a reported £4 million. The 23-year-old center-half and Tykes captain has been the target of their pursuit.

Additionally, that offer was turned down due to rumors that Barnsley was demanding a £5 million club record. According to CoventryLive, City has agreed to pay a fee for the League One team’s captain, who is expected to undergo a medical exam prior to an announcement later this evening. However, the fee is not thought to be that high.
