Authorities in North Carolina said they have apprehended an escaped prisoner who broke into a woman’s house and kidnapped her.
On Wednesday, Billy Lee Smith, forty-two, left his position at Marion Correctional Institution in Marion, North Carolina. According to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, he was serving a 10-year term for narcotics trafficking while under minimal custody when he escaped.
Marion is situated in the western region of the state, roughly 36 miles east of Asheville, North Carolina.
