Paolo Scaroni, the president of AC Milan, attempted to explain Paolo Maldini’s dismissal and the ownership’s future plans in an intriguing interview.

After Giorgio Furlani’s brief remarks to La Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday, Scaroni was interviewed by Corriere della Sera and is now the latest member of the administration to attempt to clarify the specifics of the vision.

SempreMilan reported what he had to say.it, first offering a few remarks to his erstwhile associate Maldini and outlining the reasons behind the parties’ decision to split.

“Where should I begin? From the fact that Paolo Maldini is a gentleman, someone who is devoted to Milan, and someone who has accomplished much for Milan, and with whom I have always had great relationships in particular,” he stated.

But as far as club management goes, we kind of follow an original model—at least for Italy. We collaborate as a team. It is an organizational paradigm that our shareholder [Cardinale], who is, as we recall, a sports expert who has success in his endeavors, holds in high regard.

We listen closely to what he recommends because we believe it will lead to advances. Paolo seemed uneasy to us in this organization, and when someone is uncomfortable, it’s best to let them go.

“I’ll give you an example from my own experience. I was so committed to the new stadium issue that some people referred to me as “Stadioni” rather than Scaroni. Yes, although I largely did it during the Elliott years.

“It was only natural for me to join RedBird and give up my independent job after they arrived, as they are professionals who have constructed stadiums all over the world. It resembles what ought to have occurred in the technical field.

We all want Milan to keep growing, including RedBird. I remember that I took office as president in a momentous occasion. You remember that I used to say that we had two mountains to climb: performance in sports and bankruptcy.

Although we aren’t at the top right now, we have certainly gone a long way, and in Italy, we rank among the most accomplished people.

We want to maintain growing while always remembering that increased income generates more investments for the sports area, and increased sporting accomplishments generate even more income—a positive feedback loop that needs to be started.

Let me remind you, however, that over the last four years, we have invested more than anyone else. Some people will never stop saying it’s not good enough, but our shareholders have given us the opportunity to assemble a capable team, and we will move forward on this path together.

We have high goals, so I believe we will need to close some important deals and generate some revenue.

“Who is going to look after the market? It will be managed by a multidisciplinary team led by CEO Giorgio Furlani, who is also in charge of the sports department, and includes experts like coach Pioli and Geoffrey Moncada.

“We anticipate that he will weigh in on these decisions. in addition to RedBird’s global team of professionals.

We have great expectations, therefore I think we’ll need to make some money and close some significant agreements.

“Who will take care of the market? Experts like coach Pioli and Geoffrey Moncada will be part of the interdisciplinary team headed by CEO Giorgio Furlani, who is also in charge of the sports department.

“We hope he will provide input on these choices. in addition to the worldwide group of experts at RedBird.

Regarding the rumors that Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be contacted about rejoining the team as a potential conduit between the players and the management, the president was also questioned.

It seems to me that he would like to take a leave of absence. Then, he continues to be a friend and someone we greatly owe because he helped us succeed even in the most trying circumstances. We will be the first to hear any suggestions that he has.

A few participants have voiced their opinions. Yacine Adli posted a direct message on Instagram, Rafael Leao shared a mysterious but poignant video, and other players also paid respect with their own posts.

It feels right to me. However, because they are seasoned experts, they will see that this is being done in an effort to perform better. We’ll give them an explanation. Then they will legitimately continue to be connected to Maldini.
Lastly, Scaroni addressed the idea that Maldini’s desire to fire head coach Stefano Pioli was a contributing factor in their disagreement over future plans.

Should Maldini wish to fire Pioli? I don’t want to voice my opinion about Pioli being fired. However, Pioli is crucial to this endeavor.
