Hakeem Beamon Beamon, along with fellow defensive tackle DVon Ellies, will return to Penn State for their sixth year in 2024.

Penn State will have two sixth-year defensive tackles in 2024, since Hakeem Beamon has stated that he will return to the Nittany Lions next year. Beamon revealed his decision via a social media post.

Beamon joins teammate defensive tackle DVon Ellies, who made his decision to return to Penn State football earlier this week. Beamon and Ellies will be sixth-year players for the Nittany Lions. Both redshirted in 2019 and will take advantage of the 2020 bonus year.

Beamon (6-3, 290 pounds) is one of Penn State’s most seasoned players. He has started 17 games in his career, including six last season, and has shared minutes with Ellies and Zane Durant on the inside. Although he did not start in the Peach Bowl against Ole Miss, Beamon led the tackles with 49 snaps.

Beamon and Ellies are two athletes from Penn State’s 2019 recruiting class who will take advantage of their extra season of eligibility. Joey Porter Jr., Jaquan Brisker, Brenton Strange, and Brandon Smith are among the 2019 class of NFL players. Adisa Isaac, Daequan Hardy, and Caedan Wallace, all 2019 recruits, are entering the 2024 NFL Draft. Captain Keaton Ellis has also exhausted his eligibility and will enter the draft.
