According to a report by Jordan Schultz, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed tackle Obinna Eze to their practice squad.
Eze, 25, is currently in his second year of competition. Upon graduating from TCU in 2022, the 6-foot-8, 325-pound product of Lagos, Nigeria, signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent.
Eze did not see game action during his entire 2022 season as a member of the Detroit practice squad. He re-signed with the Lions for the 2023 campaign, however at the conclusion of the preseason on August 27, he was released.
Eze did not perform very well in the pre-draft process after leaving TCU. His short shuttle time was 5.08 seconds, while his three-cone drill time was 8.2 seconds. These were slow agility times. The only bench press reps he recorded were 18. He received a 5.33 out of 10 Relative Athletic Score overall. Eze played for Memphis for four seasons before to attending TCU.
