“I’m confident that I gave this game my all, but I’m filled with gratitude for everything it has given me,” said the kid from Finley, Ohio, who had NFL dreams.
Raised at Miami University in Oxford, he was blessed with 18 seasons of honor and a place to call home as a Pittsburgh Steeler.
This journey has been an exciting one, marked by relationships and driven by a competitive spirit.
But it’s time to clean out his locker, hang up his soccer cleats, and continue doing what’s best for his wife and kids.

The Steelers hold nearly every notable QB record in the franchise.
During his time with the Steelers, one of the league’s most storied franchises, Roethlisberger set an NFL record with 18 scoreless seasons.
With Roethlisberger at the helm, the Steelers were always in the game, winning Super Bowl IV with head coach Bill Cowher and Super Bowl XLIII with Mike Tomlin.
He led the Steelers to a total of three Super Bowl appearances (Pittsburgh lost to Green Bay in Super Bowl 45), 12 postseason berths, and eight district championships.
Statistically, Roethlisberger’s career is one of his greatest.
He finished his career eighth in passing touchdowns (418) and fifth in passing yards (64,088), completions (5,440) and attempts (8,443).

The great Terry Bradshaw won four Super Bowls with the Steelers, but Roethlisberger’s dominance in every other category makes him the best in the history of the league’s best franchise.
He’s proven he’s a quarterback.
