The team’s future plans will not include one of Nebraska’s initial offseason additions through the transfer portal.
A team representative verified on Wednesday that junior defensive back Corey Collier is no longer with the Nebraska football team.
After spending two seasons at Florida, Collier committed to Nebraska in December 2022 and became a scholarship transfer to the Husker team.
In his two seasons with the Gators, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety saw limited action, and the same was true of his play with Nebraska in the previous fall. Collier, who divided time between special teams and a rotational position in the Nebraska secondary, had five appearances without making a tackle.
