Pennsylvania State Wrestling achieved its fourth straight undefeated finish in Big Ten Season .
The top-ranked Nittany Lions defeated No.
4 Nebraska 22-13, winning their 55th straight game.


No.
1 Penn State wrestling in the nation defeated No.
4 Nebraska 22-13 on Sunday at Rec Hall for its fourth straight Big Ten regular season title.
The game turned out to be the closest of the Big Ten season for the Nittany Lions, making Nebraska the first team to win in four games against the Nittany Lions.
Still, Penn State has five senior wrestlers and the team hasn’t let up this season.
The Nittany Lions (11-0 overall, 8-0 Big Ten) have won their conference games this season by an average margin of 27.
3 points.
Now, Penn State is preparing to become a tournament team.
The Big Ten Championship will be held in College Park, Maryland, on March 9th and 10th, and the NCAA Championship will be held in Kansas City on March 21st and 23rd.

Penn State won 55 straight games starting his 2019-20 season, ending the Big Ten season with his fourth straight undefeated season.
Coach Cael Sanderson’s teams are 74-1 in the Big Ten over the past nine seasons and have gone undefeated in eight seasons.

Bartlett (17-0) and Mazenbrink (18-0) are two of Penn State’s most consistent and dependable wrestlers this season.
Bartlett (141) earned the No.
1 ranking by going 10-0 in a variety of ways against other No.
1 ranked wrestlers.
Bartlett defeated two No.
2 wrestlers in February (including former No.
1 Real Woods of Iowa State) and eliminated No.
7 Brock Hardy of Nebraska on Sunday.
Bartlett pounced on Hardy and quickly defeated him in the first half, building a 7-1 lead in the second half and looking like he could earn a bonus point.
However, Hardy pushed Bartlett in the third round and scored his fourth dual-meet takedown against Bartlett this season, closing the gap to 7-6.
Bartlett ran away to save Hardy’s late try and win 9-6 at road time.

Mesenbrink also improved his record to 10-0 against ranked opponents, defeating No.
15 Antrell Taylor his 9-5.
Usually aggressive, Mazenbrink unusually gave up his first takedown when Taylor shot within 10 seconds.
But from then on, Mazenbrink took control of the fight and started the second period with a takedown.
Mazenbrink showed his strength by converting a leg throw into a lift and scoring a takedown to take a 5-3 lead.
In the third round, Mazenbrink used his speed to land a leg throw to win.
It was an impressive all-around finish from Mesenbrink.
He appeared to be clinging to his side in some discomfort at the start of the fight, but he continued to fight.
Penn State has players ranging from his 157 to heavyweight, so it’s very difficult to beat.
Without a big lead, your opponent has no chance.
So Nebraska never really had a chance, despite winning his three of his first four contests.
Leaders Levi Haynes (157), Carter Starocci (174), Aaron Brooks (197) and Greg Kerkvliet (285) combined for 16 team points to seal the victory.
Haynes appeared to have the upper hand as he defeated No.
7 ranked Peyton Robb, scoring two very strong takedowns in the second period for a 10-3 win.
Brooks earned his 12th bonus point in 13 races, tying him with 13th place Silas Allred at 17-4.
Starocci, who did not play in Monday’s game against Rutgers, snapped a 63-game winning streak (the longest streak in Division I in the country) with his fifth technical fall of the season.
Starocci (11-0) is playing a booked schedule this season and needs four more games to qualify for the NCAA RPI, the postseason seeding standard, but is by far the alpha in this division.

Kerkvliet (11-0) then put up another even fight, defeating Nash Hutmacher 10-0.
