Unai Emery discloses two players that can leave Aston Villa during the January transfer window, as reported by BirminghamLive.

Unai Emery has announced that Bertrand Traore and Calum Chambers are free to leave the club this month.

Chambers has only started one Premier League game under Emery since replacing Steven Gerrard last year, when Tyrone Mings was absent for the trip to Manchester City. This season, he has made only three appearances for Villa: against Hibernian, Legia Warsaw, and Zrinjski Mostar.

Traore is presently representing Burkina Faso at AFCON and has made only two Premier League appearances this season, totaling ten minutes against Burnley and Luton. He returned to Villa after his loan stay at Istanbul Basaksehir was cut short in January of this year, and he made an immediate impact, scoring the winning goal against Leicester and the opening in the 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.

Villa have yet to complete a deal in January, but with three weeks remaining, Emery revealed what he expects to happen before the market closes.

“It is difficult and we are not being very focused in the transfer window because we are second in the table and have recovered some players who were out until now,” he said. “I am really delighted with the guys, and they are making good development.

“The guys’ devotion is excellent. Everyone has good intentions and a strong willingness to work hard, and we will face three tournaments before the season ends. We need to provide solid performances in our style, and we have the guys here.

“Some players, such as Bertrand Traore and Calum Chambers, may leave, and if this occurs, we may consider adding one or two players to the squad.” We wish to help and support the players we have right now.
