Off-contract NRL player Jarome Luai is being accused of showing the Panthers a great deal of disrespect, and there are persistent rumors that he wants to quit the team right away.

Five-eighth Luai, 26, is allegedly nearing a $6 million contract to sign a five-year agreement with the Wests Tigers starting in 2025.

On Instagram, the Samoan international stated, “No pen to paper here.” I’ll notify you as soon as a deal is finalized. Big Love informed his Penrith teammates that he will be leaving the squad on December 16 in response to rumors that surfaced online.

The Sydney Morning Herald stated that Luai ‘had someone else to ring up and inform them [Panthers] he wasn’t coming to training [on Monday] because he is unhappy with them,’ showing a lack of class in his treatment of his boyhood team.

If Luai resumed preseason training on Tuesday is yet unknown.

Luai’s future with the Panthers was first questioned in November when his coach, Ivan Cleary, told media that, considering his inexperience as a playmaker, signing Luai would be a “risk” for rival NRL clubs.
