Turner already showing what he can provide for the Blue Jays - The San Diego Union-Tribune

DUNEDIN, Florida — In their opening spring training game on Saturday at TD Ballpark, the Toronto Blue Jays were defeated 14–13 by the Philadelphia Phillies, despite three singles and three RBIs from Daulton Varsho.

In one inning of work, Blue Jays pitcher Chad Dallas struck out two batters without allowing a hit. Yosver Zululeta (0-1) was given the loss after giving up seven runs and six hits in 0.2 innings.

Signings of free agents In Toronto colors, Justin Turner and Isiah Kiner-Falefa made their debuts. Kiner-Falefa had two hits and an RBI in three at-bats, while Turner got an RBI-single in one.

 

Bo Bichette received two hits while starting at shortstop. Regulars Kevin Kiermaier, George Springer, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. did not participate in the match.
