The safety of the Las Vegas Raiders According to Vinny Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Roderic Teamer was detained in the morning on suspicion of DUI, therefore he will be absent for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
This season, Teamer has made six appearances and totaled five tackles.
According to Chris Maathuis of 8 News Now in Las Vegas, Teamer was first reported for speeding prior to his DUI arrest, according to early jail records.
Teamer, a fourth-year pro from Tulane, joined the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019 as an undrafted free agency.
As a rookie, he only played in seven games, starting six of them, but he showed promise with 40 total tackles, a sack, and an interception.
But after breaking the NFL’s drug usage policy, he was suspended for the first four games of the 2020 campaign, and the Chargers dismissed him in August of the same year. During the entire year, he did not sign with a team.
Teamer signed with the Raiders ahead to the 2021 season following a five-month run with the Indianapolis Colts, during which he was waived before the start of training camp.
That season, he played in ten games and recorded eighteen tackles. Last season, he participated in all 17 games and finished with 40 tackles.
Teamer became a restricted free agent this past offseason, and the Raiders re-signed him. After being placed on injured reserve last month, he was activated this week, and the organization anticipated having him play against the Chiefs, who are currently atop the AFC West.
