During the last Chicago Bulls media day, Lonzo Ball took the stage to talk about his impending comeback to the basketball court after several knee surgeries rather than to analyze the current games.

Ball boldly declared, “I definitely plan on playing again.” Even though I’m only 25, I think the rehabilitation process has gone well thus far.

No obstacles. Therefore, for me, it’s just a matter of keeping my head up and working hard.”

The gifted athlete had a cartilage transplant in March, his third knee surgery. It was said that he was unable to even execute simple sports manoeuvres like sprinting or jumping after his second surgery.

Ball hasn’t played on the court in a long—his last game was on January 14, 2022. He missed 42 games in the 2021–22 season, the entire 2022–23 season, and it doesn’t look probable that he will play in the upcoming NBA season due to his health issues.

Ball, though, is preparing for a strong return in the 2024–2025 campaign.

Ball shared his insights on his recuperation, saying,

Prior to the injury, Ball was starting to settle into the league.
Ball was dominating the league with his play prior to this run of injuries. He was a vital member of the Chicago Bulls, averaging 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.

His 3-point shooting was a source of concern in his formative years. However, his most recent numbers paint a different picture: after only 30.5% in his debut campaign, he increased it to 42.3% during his Chicago tenure.

Since making his NBA debut, not only has his shooting become more proficient, but his general playmaking abilities have also drawn notice. Up until his injuries, this and his improved shooting abilities kept him in the public eye.

Considering the psychological impact of missing the game, Ball said,
