Detroit Tigers Working Towards Return From Injury For Several Key Players, Including Riley Greene
Riley Greene, Akil Baddoo, and Tarik Skubal are all on their way back from injuries, which is good news for the Detroit Tigers.
While the news that Matthew Boyd would undergo Tommy John surgery this week was sad, the Detroit Tigers have recently received a lot of good news on the health front.
This week, the team activated Matt Manning from the injured list, revealed that Casey Mize is throwing bullpens again, and received excellent news on three crucial players.

Greene (fibula) is on his way to Triple-A Toledo, where he will begin a rehabilitation assignment soon, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic.

It is unclear when that rehab assignment would begin, but Akil Baddoo (quad) will also join Toledo and is expected to be ahead of Greene in terms of timetable. Greene should be ready to play soon, though a comeback before the conclusion of the first half may be pushing it. He missed the entire month of June due to a stress fracture in his left fibula.
Greene is a key component of the Tigers’ rebuild and has had a breakout season this year. The 22-year-old former No. 5 overall choice in the draft is batting.296 with five home runs, 18 RBI, and six stolen bases. Getting him back would be crucial.

Baddoo will continue his exercises with Toledo for the time being, but he should be ready to play soon. The outfielder has been sidelined with a right quad strain since early June, but he appears to be on track to return before the All-Star break.
