Josh Addo-Carr will miss Canterbury’s game against the New Zealand Warriors after his injury recovery was delayed.
“The Bulldogs have ultimately decided to rest the star player for at least one more week as he prepares to make a return from a syndesmosis ankle injury,” the club stated ahead of their Round 11 match.

After being named to start against Andrew Webster’s side, Addo-Carr was ruled out on the day of the game as he recovers from an injury suffered during the Bulldogs’ Good Friday loss to Souths.

“It’s literally a record if he does come back,” Jacob Kiraz remarked earlier this week as Addo-Carr attempted to return to the field after only one month away.
“It’s crazy, because when he did it, he said he would come back in four weeks and everyone was saying, ‘yeah, yeah’,” he added.
“Hopefully he can perform a miracle. He has a few tests and tasks to complete. Get your training done without pain.
“He is a big part of our team, and I would love to see him out there.”
Addo-Carr’s quick return comes as a surprise, as he was thought to be out of action for at least another month after surgery. However, the club is hopeful that it is only a minor setback ahead of Round 11.
The Dogs have struggled during Addo-Carr’s absence, losing three of their last four games.
“My plan is to come back next week (against the Warriors),” Addo-Carr told News Corp.
“It will come down to the physios and Cam (Ciraldo). Personally, I want to play.
“My ankle feels fantastic now. It’s been a frustrating experience. This year’s journey has been unique; it’s likely the longest period of time I’ve spent on the sidelines.
“I’ve been extremely blessed in the past with injuries, but I’ve been doing everything I can to get back playing and hopefully it’s next week.”
