As DJ Moore, the team’s premier wide receiver, resumed practice on Thursday, some anxiety regarding his availability for Sunday’s Bears matchup against the Cleveland Browns was relieved.
Jaquan Brisker, the safety, and the other side of the ball are now the source of concern.
Moore was allowed to participate in a restricted session on Thursday due to his ankle issue, which prevented him from practicing on Wednesday.
In the early “individual” part of practice, Moore looked good running through passing and downfield blocking drills on the field with the squad.
In the eight complete games he has played alongside Justin Fields, Moore has averaged 101 receiving yards.
Last week, he had 68 yards on six grabs and scored his first touchdown run as a wildcat quarterback on a 16-yard fake end-around.
The starting safety Brisker (who had 17 tackles on Sunday) missed practice on Thursday due to a groin injury; unlike Moore, Brisker’s injury is trending downward.
Backup linebacker Noah Sewell (who practiced on Wednesday) also missed practice due to a knee injury he had been dealing with prior to last week; linebacker Dylan Cole (who practiced on Wednesday) returned to practice following his absence on Wednesday due to personal reasons. Tight end Marcedes Lewis was granted his regular Thursday veteran’s day off.
