Could Texas Longhorns Have Nation's Most Explosive Offense? - Sports Illustrated Texas Longhorns News, Analysis and More

The Texas Longhorns were heartbroken to lose to the Washington Huskies in the Sugar Bowl last season, which prevented them from making it to the national championship game.

Many of the Longhorns’ best players, including their top four pass catchers in Ja’Tavion Sanders, Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, and Jordan Whittington, decided to join the NFL after the team’s defeat.

Not to mention, Jonathan Brooks, their star running back, developed his skills even more.

To counter that, though, the Longhorns added to an already excellent collection of returning players with an impressive haul from the NCAA Transfer Portal, which included names like Isaiah Bond and Amari Niblack from Alabama and Matthew Golden from Houston, among others.

Taking that into consideration, Brad Crawford, a college football analyst for 247Sports, ranked the college football offenses that might be the most explosive in 2024, placing the Longhorns at No. 5.

Ohio State was ranked No. 1, followed by Oregon at No. 2, Ole Miss at No. 3, and Liberty at No. 4, on the list, ahead of the Horns.

At No. 6, Memphis trailed Texas, and Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, and LSU came in that order.
