After reaching an agreement with Nathan Peterman on a one-year contract, the New Orleans Saints traded for veteran quarterback Jameis Winston this week.
Additionally, since Peterman was drafted back in 2017, he has thrown more interceptions (13) on fewer attempts (160) than any other player in the league.
This has caused some resentment from fans. As the backup quarterback to Winston, that isn’t exactly a strong contender to take Derek Carr’s spot.

Peterman was noticed by recruiters at Bartram Trail High School, where he attended while growing up close to Jacksonville.
A four-star prospect at first, he made Tennessee his collegiate football home. After choosing to redshirt his first season with the Vols, he made a few appearances in 2013 and 2014.
However, he moved to Pittsburgh in 2015 and rose up the ranks fast, playing the most of that season and his senior year in 2016.
Ultimately, for both teams, Peterman completed 398 of his 662 pass attempts (60.1%) and scored 47 touchdown passes versus 17 interceptions during his college career.
