Once an exciting young prospect with potential for days, Martavis Bryant will now try to return to …
I understand that the first thing that came to mind when you saw the title was Josh Gordon, but allow me to correct you: that is not Josh Gordon.
In fact, the Dallas Cowboys believe a different long-suspended wide receiver who showed promise in the past and was just reinstated would be a better match for their offense.
Cowboys News: Bryant, Martavis, Works Out
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated Martavis Bryant, who will practice with the Cowboys on Tuesday in an effort to rejoin the league.
Initially, Bryant was suspended for the whole 2016 season for abusing drugs, as per the league’s policy.
After being reinstated under certain restrictions, he broke them and has been sidelined since the midpoint of the 2018 campaign.
It wasn’t until 2019 that he submitted his reinstatement (again) application that Goodell cleared him.
The league keeps these details confidential for a reason, so I won’t sit here and make up stories about Bryant’s personal life or his relationship with Goodell, but there are undoubtedly some significant football-related ramifications here.
