Trevon Diggs Among 3 More Players Ruled Out

The waiver report, player signings, reserve list assignments, practice squad churn, a few tryouts, and one throwback were all included in the NFL’s transactions digest on Wednesday.

The Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain was mentioned under the title “Suspension lifted by the commissioner.”

The 34-year-old McClain became an unrestricted free agent after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell took action, allowing him to sign with any team.

Former Alabama prep standout maintains his undrafted mindset despite a $51 million deal.
A clue to the puzzle of the Super Bowl hero’s benching appears

Former Alabama tight end joins another championship program: On December 2, 2016, the NFL suspended McClain indefinitely for breaking the league’s substance abuse policy and program.

After violating the Program and Policy for Substances of Abuse, McClain was serving a four-game ban at the beginning of the 2015 season.

He was also serving a second suspension that prevented him from playing in the first ten games of the 2016 season when he was given the indefinite suspension.

McClain was cut by the Dallas Cowboys on September 2, 2019, after playing for the team in 2014 and 2015.

Prior to winning the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker while playing for the undefeated Alabama squad that won the BCS national title in 2009, McClain was a standout basketball and football player at Decatur High School.
