Today is Penn State Pro Day. To watch a number of former Nittany Lions in action, NFL personnel from the majority, if not all, of the 32 NFL teams will be in State College today.
Due to many Senior Day participants choosing to return for one last season in blue and white, the group is not quite as large as it has been in previous years.
Even so, the day will be full of intrigue as everyone present hopes to begin the process that will eventually enable them to join former Nittany Lions like Saquon Barkley, Mike Gesicki, Yetur Gross-Matos, and others who recently signed new professional contracts, in addition to Trace McSorley and Grant Haley who will be returning to the area this weekend to assist in mentoring the current team.
“It goes without saying that we like our lettermen and former players, especially the guys in the NFL, to try to return as much as they can to campus to support and be on the sidelines for games, to have an influence over our current roster,” James Franklin stated on Tuesday.
“Trace and Grant are returning this weekend to speak with our team about the 2016 Big Ten Championship team and to try to get these guys back as much as we can,” the statement reads. In my selfish opinion, Penn State football has enormous value, and I can attest to this for our players.
