After “intentionally” throwing at Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis García, which cleared benches during the Astros’ Game 5 comeback win in the eighth inning, MLB announced on Saturday that Abreu would miss two games.

The suspension takes effect right away, barring an appeal by Abreu. He also got a fine that was kept a secret.

Rangers reliever Matt Bush, Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., and García, who confronted Astros catcher Martin Maldonado right away after being struck, were all fined for their involvement in the altercation. Following the game, Dusty Baker, the manager of the Astros, was also fined.

The contentious Bryan Abreu-Adolis García altercation had repercussions.
The alleged incident transpired during the bottom half of the eighth inning, following two innings in which García had taken the lead with a three-run home run and had been walking briskly toward first base to celebrate.

Abreu whacked the All-Star slugger in the arm with a 99 mph fastball while there were no outs and a runner on first.
