“I will always be grateful for my time in New England and for the opportunity to start my career in the NFL…”

Read Mac Jones' goodbye letter to Patriots, New England

After three seasons in Foxborough, former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones said goodbye to New England on social media on Thursday night.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old quarterback made his Jaguars debut. Jacksonville received the former first-round pick from New England in return for a 2024 sixth-round pick.

This is Jones’ entire message:

I will always treasure the last three seasons I spent with the New England Patriots. I will always be appreciative of my time spent in New England and the chance to launch my NFL career.

“Thank you to Mr. Kraft and the Kraft Family for giving me the chance to fulfill my childhood dream of playing in the NFL.

I would want to express my gratitude to Coach Belichick and all the other coaches and support staff who have assisted me over the years with training, equipment, strength, staff, and everything in between. Your assistance has been invaluable to me every day. I genuinely am grateful to all of you.

“To my teammates with whom I have worked these last three years, I will always treasure the bonds we formed.

Thank you to all of my fans for always coming out to support the patriots and me. Being a Patriots member has been a blessing, and I will always have affection for the New England region.

Having said that, I can’t wait to return home and begin working in Duuuuval! I am grateful for this opportunity provided by the Jacksonville Jaguars organization. Now let’s move! #DTWD.

Recalling his time in New England, Jones told reporters in Jacksonville that he had no regrets, despite the fact that he was benched for the last six weeks of the 2023 season after Bailey Zappe took over as the starting quarterback.
