Cleary fined for further breach | Stuff

The women, according to the 22-year-old son of Panthers head coach Ivan Cleary, were his sister’s friends, and they spent ten minutes in his residence while he waited for an Uber.

But after pictures of Cleary dancing with the women surfaced on the video-sharing website TikTok, the NRL’s integrity unit revived his case.

After Cleary and his roommate Tyrone May cooperated with the NRL’s integrity unit, the league claimed that it has sent them further infringement notices.

“The notices allege that the players were untruthful in relation to material matters and the proposed sanctions reflect the seriousness of those allegations,” the NRL stated in a statement.

In addition to a two-match suspension, May was fined A$15,000 (£7,868).
Cleary was one of four NRL players, two of whom were internationals, who were disciplined last month for violating social norms in the state of eastern New South Wales.

Due to travel limitations brought on by the coronavirus epidemic, which made it unfeasible, the season was halted after two rounds in March.

The NRL has declared that play will resume on May 28 and that the Grand Final will take place on October 25.
