Outstanding transfers from Gator
Kamari Wilson, a former five-star safety, joined the portal formally on Monday. In the 2022 recruiting class, Wilson, a 6-foot, 205-pound defensive back, stood out from IMG Academy.

His commitment to Florida over Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and FSU made him one of Napier’s first major additions as the Gators’ head coach.

The 2023 season was very different from the successful 2022 season, in which he played in all 13 games, added 39 tackles, and forced one turnover.

Wilson’s playing time was drastically reduced as two freshmen took his place. Before Week 4, he was taken off of Florida’s depth chart, and the Gators never again saw him on the field.

On Monday, Chris McClellan, a sophomore defensive lineman, revealed his desire to transfer, adding his name to the list of those using the site.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound lineman McClellan was ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma and No. 90 in the US as a top prospect out of high school in 2022.

McClellan signed with Dan Mullen at first, but once he left, he remained loyal to Billy Napier. McClellan has 46 tackles, two sacks, and one fumble recovery during his tenure with the Gators.
