Caps' Wilson suspended 20 games for hit on Blues' Sundqvist | theScore.com

NEW YORK The National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today that Tom Wilson,

a forward for the Washington Capitals, has been suspended for six games without pay for high-sticking Toronto Maple Leafs forward Noah Gregor on Wednesday, March 20, during NHL Game No. 1095 in Washington.

The incident happened in the third period at 12:13. Wilson’s high-sticking was given a double-minor punishment.

Wilson will forfeit $161,458.32 in accordance with the rules of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with his average yearly wage.

The Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund is the beneficiary of the funds.
