Colorado’s Englewood (AP) — Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds is joining the Denver Broncos on a two-year, $14 million free agency contract, The Associated Press was informed on Wednesday by a person with knowledge of the agreement.
The trade was revealed by the unidentified source, which the Broncos delayed announcing.
The addition of Reynolds to the Broncos’ offense completes the overhaul that began with the trade of Jerry Jeudy, a former first-round choice, to Cleveland in exchange for two mid-round draft picks.
Tim Patrick, who has missed the last two seasons due to injury, Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and Reynolds, who caught 40 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Lions, round out the receiving corps.
While the Broncos lost center Lloyd Cushenberry to the Titans in free agency, Alex Forsyth and Luke Wattenberg will compete for his job this summer.
Meanwhile, Denver is in the quarterback market with growing expectations that they’ll move up from the 12th overall pick in the NFL draft next month to grab one of the top QB prospects.
Reynolds, 29, has 19 career touchdown receptions across seven NFL seasons with the Rams, Titans, and Lions. He entered the league as a fourth-round draft pick by the Rams in 2017.
