Head coach Grant McCasland is coming off his first season with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, in which they finished as a top-25 team with a record of 23-11.

Tech’s showing the NCAA Tournament was tough losing to North Carolina State in the first round, but if you are into moral victories the Wolfpack did advance to the Final Four.

Still, there is a lot to be positive about in his first season. The Red Raiders finished third in the conference with 11 wins in Big 12 play, finishing only behind Houston and Iowa State.

Not to mention they had to do it with some off-the-court distractions. Not an excuse by any means. Next season the conference will lose the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns while bringing in four more teams from the Pac-12.

The roster will undergo massive changes with both of the team’s top scorers already announcing that they will transfer from the program.

With plenty of time for things to change, here is a look at the way-too-early roster projection for Grant McCasland in the 2024-25 season.

Darrion Williams finished third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.4 points per game while shooting 49.4% from the floor.

The 6-foot-6-inch guard was also fourth on the team with 1.3 three-pointers made per game. His return will be key for McCasland as he looks to rebuild this roster.
