Steve Kerr Sends Heartfelt Message to Michael Malone After Father’s Passing
Golden State Warriors coach Kerr Steve sent a message to Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone.

Brendan Malone, longtime NBA coach and father of Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, died on Monday at the age of 81. The NBA world has been offering condolences to Michael Malone and his family, with Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr among the most recent.

“I want to pass along my condolences to Mike Malone and his family,” Kerr stated in a statement. “His father, Brendan, died away yesterday. Brendan has had an enormous impact on the NBA. He was a long-time coach while I played. I remember him best from his time on the Pistons’ coaching staff and championship teams, but it’s a terrible day for the NBA and, of course, Mike and his family, so please accept our condolences from the Warriors.

Kerr’s sentiments were quite sweet, considering she has a relationship with Michael Malone and, of course, knows his father. Brendan Malone’s death marks a sad day in the NBA, but it has been great to see the outpouring of affection from the NBA community for Malone, the Nuggets, and everyone who knew the longtime coach.
