Warriors Klay Thompson admits he's seriously considering switching teams - Bolavip US
After playing for Team USA a few times, Klay Thompson might consider switching flags to suit up for Team Bahamas.

Klay Thompson is in Manila, Philippines, with Golden State Warriors teammate Kevon Looney to promote their signature shoes with Anta.

Incidentally, some of the 2023 FIBA World Cup games are also held in the country. As such, Thompson was asked some questions about international basketball in a press conference.

One of the questions thrown his way was the possibility of him suiting up for the Bahamas national team in the future.

And his response could have the Bahamians giddy about the prospect of seeing a five-time All-Star represent them in international play.

“When that time comes, I’ll give it serious consideration,” Klay said. “Just because of what the Bahamas has meant to the Thompson family, especially my father.

He never had the chance to play for the national team just because they didn’t have the chance back in the ’70s and ’80s.

Now, my brother is coaching with them. It’s also very cool. But right now, I’m really focused on the NBA season. When the time comes next time, I’ll give it consideration.”

Is Klay eligible?
Some might wonder if the 33-year-old sharpshooter would be allowed to play for the Caribbean nation when he has already been a member of Team USA. He joined the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic squads and even won gold medals during those stints.
