Quarterback Joe Burrow, who’s been on the road to recovery after a calf injury, just dropped a bombshell on social media as his team gears up to take on the Cleveland Browns in less than two weeks.
After spending over a month on the sidelines due to the injury, Burrow, the former LSU standout and a key player in last year’s Super Bowl run, is back in action.
Despite concerns that he might miss the start of the upcoming season, Burrow returned to practice on Wednesday and is all set to hit the ground running in Week 1.
The quarterback, who clearly has his sights set on another Super Bowl appearance, knows the importance of staying in the game. To mark his triumphant comeback, Burrow took to Instagram with a playful throwback picture.
The snapshot shows him sporting a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey adorned with LeBron James’ name and number, a clever nod to his team’s upcoming matchup against the Browns on September 10.
Teammate C Ja’Marrhase was equally surprised and thrilled by Burrow’s speedy return. The wide receiver revealed that he had no inkling that Joe would be back in practice until he saw him taking part in the team’s walkthrough session on Wednesday. Chase had initially advised Burrow to take it slow and not rush his return until at least Week 5.
However, he was genuinely encouraged by what he witnessed during Burrow’s first training session back on the field since his injury.
