Howard Stern’s heartbreaking announcement leaves fans stunned

Ralph Cirella has died, according to multiple reports.

That name might not ring a bell for some folks, but for fans of Howard Stern, it hits home.

The 58-year-old was Stern’s friend, longtime stylist and a frequent caller and participant on the show over the past several decades.

Stern discussed Cirella’s death on the air Tuesday, saying that his “heart gave out,” during a procedure to treat a “rare lymphoma” that was “curable and treatable.”

“I just have been so sad and so angry,” Stern, who said he has been friends with Cirella for around 40 years said.

“He loved me,” Stern said. “Ralph was a trustworthy, dear friend who made me laugh every time I was with him.”

Stern credited his friend with helping him meet his current wife, Beth.

John Stamos, a Stern friend and frequent guest of Stern’s show, also posted about Cirella’s death.

“In our final exchange, I shared a story about someone who called me lucky,” Stamos remembered. “When I asked why, their response was simple and profound: ‘Because you’re friends with Ralph from the Howard Stern show.’ And they were absolutely right. My dear friend, I will miss you so much. I love you, Ralphie boy. Rest in Peace.”

“This one hurts a lot,’ one person responded. “Being a fan for the show makes you feel like people like Ralph are your personal friends. When one passes away it feels like you lost a true life friend. RIP Ralph.”
