The third and final deal announced by Warrington is perhaps the most exciting, with 17-year-old centre Arron Lindop signing a four-year contract that will keep him with the club until 2027, with an additional year added as an option.

His progress through the academy has impressed the club enough to earn him a first-team contract, with him wearing the number 33 shirt in 2024.

All three are set to play in Warrington Wolves’ pre-season match against Widnes Vikings on Friday the 26th at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

With these signings, the club is clearly looking ahead, with the club statement highlighting it as a “display of faith in youth,” and they’ve got the perfect man in Gary Chambers to guide their young players.

Chambers took over as interim head coach after Daryl Powell was fired in 2023, and the former schoolteacher helped lead the club to the playoffs during his time in charge.

With the arrival of new head coach Sam Burgess, Chambers has taken on a new role as director of rugby.

As such, he oversees all operations at the club, and given his previous role as Head of Youth, he will undoubtedly have had a significant influence in the signing of these three talented young players.

Warrington Wolves Head Coach Sam Burgess commented on the new deals: “We’ve been able to add Max [Wood] to our squad for 2024. His attitude has been consistent since joining us in pre-season, and he is a valuable member of our team.
